South Jakarta District Court Accepts Revocation Of Pretrial Lawsuit Of Sidoarjo Regent Gus Muhdlor

JAKARTA - The South Jakarta District Court (PN Jaksel) has granted the revocation of the pretrial lawsuit filed by the inactive Regent of Sidoarjo, East Java Ahmad Muhdlor or Gus Muhdlor against the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

"The request (revocation) has been granted by single judge Radityo Baskoro," said South Jakarta District Court Public Relations Officer Djuyamto as reported by ANTARA, Monday, May 13.

According to him, at the pretrial hearing filed by Gus Muhdlor this Monday, the attorney concerned submitted the revocation of the pretrial application against the KPK.

Djuyamto said that based on the request for revocation, the sole judge granted what had been proposed so that the pretrial trial was completed.

"Ahmad Muhdlor at the pretrial hearing on Monday, May 13, 2024 through his attorney has submitted the revocation of the pretrial application," he said.

The South Jakarta District Court accepted Gus Muhdlor's pretrial application regarding the status of determination as a suspect by the KPK with case number 49/Pid.Pra/2024/PN JKT.SEL registration.

The first trial is scheduled to be held on Monday 6 May 2024 with the agenda of reading the application and is scheduled to take place from 09.00 WIB in courtroom 03.

However, the trial was postponed due to absence from the respondent, namely the KPK and is scheduled to be held again on May 13, 2024, but at the trial the attorney revoked the pretrial application.

The KPK has detained the inactive Sidoarjo Regent Ahmad Muhdlor after being named a suspect in a case of alleged corruption within the Sidoarjo Regency Regional Tax Service Agency (BPPD).

"For investigation needs, the investigative team detained the suspect AMA for the first 20 days starting from May 7 to May 26, 2024 at the KPK branch detention center," said Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Johanis Tanak at the KPK's Red and White Building, South Jakarta, Tuesday (7/5).

At that time, Muhdlor was already wearing an orange vest that read "KPK detainees" escorted by KPK officers and presented at a press conference at the KPK's Red and White Building, South Jakarta.

Ahmad Muhdlor Ali was named a suspect in the alleged corruption case of cutting employee incentives within the Regional Tax Service Agency (BPPD) of Sidoarjo Regency.

Before withdrawing the pretrial lawsuit, the attorney for the inactive Sidoarjo Regent, Mustofa Abidin, stated that his party filed a pretrial lawsuit regarding the determination of the suspect by the KPK in the case of cutting employee incentives at the Regional Tax Service Agency (BPPD) of Sidoarjo Regency.

"There are several other things that will be taken through legal remedies, including pretrial," said Mustofa.
