Indonesian Navy Joint Exercise With US Navy And USMC In Lampung

LAMPUNG - The Indonesian Navy (AL) together with the US Navy and USMC held a Joint Exercise of Cooperation Afloat Readiness And Training 2024 (Latma CarAT 24) in Lampung which will be held from 13 to 20 May 2024 in the waters of Ratai Bay and Piabung, Pesawaran.

"The 2024 talks are bilateral joint exercises between the Indonesian Navy and the United States Sevent Fleet," said Commander of Koarmada I Rear Admiral TNI Yoos Suryono Hadi, in the 9th Marine Infantry Battalion, Pesawaran, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, May 13.

This military cooperation is carried out every two years to improve interoperability, build bilateral cooperation relations between the two countries, build friendship, and strengthen the professionalism of soldiers.

"The 2024 Latma CARAT concept uses an integrated scenario-based training approach (integrated scenario scenario scenario)," he said.

All stages of planning, preparation, and exercise from each section, both technical and tactical, are carried out in an integrated manner by taking the concept of training in the form of beach defense or anti-amphibious operations.

"The training materials that will be carried out include the decision-making process, the exchange of knowledge or the Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE), individual exercises, and joint beach defense exercises by integrating ground troops, sea elements and air elements," he said.

In this exercise, the Indonesian Navy is led by Marine Colonel (P) Ludfy who serves as Commander of the Fleet 1 Satkor. While the US Navy is led by CAPT James Robinson while the USMC is led by Colonel Sean Dynan.

"In addition to war games, this activity is to carry out humanitarian missions in the form of renovating public facilities, cleaning beaches, free treatment and providing social assistance.

"The music group from the TNI Al and US Navy plans to provide entertainment to the public in one of the leading shopping centers in Bandarlampung City," he said.
