Weather Sunday 12 May, Some Of The Capital Cities Of The Province Are Showered With Light Rain

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that the weather in some areas of the provincial capital will rain with light intensity on Sunday, May 12.

Quoted from the BMKG website, the provincial capital that has the potential to rain with light intensity during the day is Yogyakarta, Gorontalo, Jambi, Samarinda, Pangkal Pinang, Tanjung Pinang, Bandarlampung, Ambon, Mataram, Jayapura City, Manokwari, Mamuju, Makassar, Kendari, Padang, and Medan.

Meanwhile, the city of Bandung is forecasted for moderate rain, with temperatures 19-27 degrees Celsius and humidity 60-95.

BMKG also warned the public to be aware of rain accompanied by lightning that could potentially occur this afternoon in the areas of Banda Aceh, Pontianak, Banjarmasin, and Palembang, as well as Mamuju City which are also forecasted for rain accompanied by lightning tonight.

Meanwhile, some areas are predicted to be cloudy, including Manado, Ternate, and Palangkaraya.

Denpasar, Serang, Bengkulu, Central Jakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, and Kupang areas are predicted to be cloudy.

Meanwhile, Tarakan City is predicted to be sunny with temperatures 25-30 degrees Celsius.

Head of BMKG Dwikorita Karnawati revealed that the potential for extreme weather that could lead to disasters has increased in most areas for the next week, triggered by intervention in tropical cyclone seeds.

According to him, three tropical cyclone seeds; Tropical Cyclone seeds 91S, 94S, and 93P are monitored around the Indian Ocean south of Java, the Timor Sea, and the Australian Sea show influence on the southern part of Indonesia.

In addition, BMKG also predicts that today until tomorrow, Monday, May 13, most of Indonesia's coastal areas will experience a high wave hazard risk.

Wind patterns in northern Indonesia generally move from the Northwest-North Sea with wind speeds ranging from 6-15 knots, while in southern Indonesia, they generally move from East-Southeast with wind speeds ranging from 68-25 knots. The highest wind speed is in the Arafuru Sea.
