5 Foreign Workers Arrested For Stay Permit In Semarang

JAKARTA - The Semarang Immigration Office, Central Java, noted that five foreign workers were caught in prosecution allegedly due to violations of residence permits that were not in accordance with their designation.

"Five foreign nationals who carry out activities do not comply with their residence permits," said Head of the Semarang Immigration Office Guntur Hamonangan in Semarang, Sunday.

He explained that the five foreigners were caught in the Jagratara Operation which was held by the Directorate General of Immigration together with the Semarang Immigration Office.

The surveillance activities, he continued, were carried out directly to a number of companies in the Semarang City, Semarang Regency, and Demak areas.

However, Guntur has not explained in more detail about the identities of the five foreigners who were caught in the operation.

"The intelligence team is still investigating because this is a program from the center," he said.

Including, he continued, sanctions will be given if they are proven to have violated the residence permit.

In Operation Jagratara, he said, Immigration also conveyed socialization to companies that use foreign labor services.

According to him, foreign labor user companies must meet administrative requirements in the field of immigration and employment.
