Central Jakarta Police Chief: Violence And Sexual Content Can Damage The Mentality Of The Young Generation

Central Jakarta Metro Police asked parents to pay more attention to their children so they don't fall into wrong relationships and damage their future.

"Don't let your parents be busy, our children lack attention so that the children choose the wrong friends and mismatch," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Police Susatyo Purnomo Condro, Friday, May 3.

According to Kombes Susatyo, parents can consult with Bhayangkara for Community Security and Order Development (Bhabinkamtibmas) and Village Guidance Officers (Babinsa) if they find out about changes in behavior in children.

This, he said, was an effort to prevent children from falling into negative actions such as drug abuse.

On that occasion, the Police Chief also reminded residents, especially parents, to immediately delete and block violent and sexual content if they find it, because it can damage the mentality, especially the younger generation.

Apart from violent and sexual content, the police also reminded the public to avoid spreading false news or hoaxes, including on social media.

"Keep in mind our children, if necessary check children's cellphones at all," he said.

Susatyo also highlighted the domestic violence (KDRT) that is still happening. According to him, victims of domestic violence need to report the perpetrators to the Central Jakarta Women and Children Service Unit (PPA) to create a deterrent effect on the perpetrators.

"Love our baby, don't be hit until you grow up, make an impression as a result of the treatment of parents in the past," he said.
