A Long Holiday Of Isra Mi'raj, Anies To Extend Mikro PPKM In Jakarta Until March 22

JAKARTA - The Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan has extended the implementation of the application of restrictions on micro-scale community activities (PPKM) from March 9 to 22, 2021.

This is done in anticipation of an increase in COVID-19 cases ahead of the long Isra Mi'raj Day holiday which falls on Thursday, March 11. Then, there is also Nyepi Day on Sunday, March 14th.

Anies asked the public not to travel out of town during the long holiday in the middle of this month. And, continue to implement health protocols.

"It is better if we all do not travel outside the city, refrain from visiting crowded places, and as much as possible at home, if there are no essential needs. This is important to keep active cases from increasing," said Anies in his statement, Monday, 8 March.

Head of the DKI Health Service, Widyastuti, explained that so far active cases of COVID-19 in DKI have been suppressed. On February 21, there were 13,309 active cases. Then, on March 7 it fell to 7,209 active cases.

Then, the case reproduction rate also decreased from 1.04 on February 16 to 1.02 on March 6. The weekly positivity rate also decreased from 18 percent in February to 11.6 percent this month.

"The decrease in active cases is the result of our hard work together, by striving to increase the cure rate," said Widyastuti.

As of February 21, 2021, the cure was 310,412 with a percentage of 94.5 percent. Meanwhile, as of March 7, the cure rate had increased by 337,426 with a 96.3 percent recovery rate.

To date, a total of 5,790 people have died with a mortality rate of 1.7 percent, while Indonesia's death rate is 2.7 percent.

The level of filling of the bed also decreased. As of March 7, 2021, the number used was only 4,922 beds, or 60 percent of the existing number, so it fell to 6 percent.

"Meanwhile, the ICU capacity has also decreased. On February 21, 2021, the ICU capacity was 1,156, filled with 817 or 71 percent, while as of March 7, 755 was filled or 66 percent was used," she said.
