How Can The East Lombok Kejari Stop Handling PDAM Corruption Cases?

The East Lombok District Attorney, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), has stopped handling reports of cases of alleged corruption in the project budget at Regional Drinking Water Companies (PDAM) in the region. Head of the Intelligence Section of the East Lombok Kejari, Mohammad Rasyidi, said that his party had stopped handling this case after conducting a series of data collection and information material in the field. "So, in the facts on the ground that we got, there is no suspected problematic project," said Rasyidi in Mataram, Antara, Tuesday, April 30. He explained that the East Lombok PDAM project, which was previously reported for alleged problems, was related to the construction of a reservoir in Suela District. "Indeed, from the data in the PDAM RKAP (company activity plan and budget), the project plan is listed," he said. However, he said, from the results of the prosecutor's clarification to PDAM, the plan could not be realized because it was hit by the budget. "So, the budget is not ready, the development plan is not realized," he said. He said that his party had checked in the field, namely in Suela District, and the Prosecutor's Office did not find any construction of the reservoir. "So, the report is not true, so (report handling) we will not continue," said Rasyidi. This alleged corruption case was initially handled by the NTB Prosecutor's Office for public reports received at the end of June 2023, with a number of work items using the PDAM budget.
