BOGOR - The Bogor City Government and the Bogor Regency Government are accelerating land preparation for the construction of the Bogor Raya Waste to Energy (PSEL) facility, which is part of the National Strategic Project (PSN) Waste to Energy (WTE) program. The groundbreaking of the project is targeted to take place in early August 2026.
The acceleration was carried out through direct inspection of the construction site in the Galuga area, Bogor Regency, Monday, July 13, which was attended by Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim, Deputy Regent of Bogor Ade Ruhandi, Deputy for Coordination of Affordability and Food Security of the Coordinating Ministry for Food and Non-Food Staple Commodities Nani Hendiarti, TNI elements, Danantara, contractors, and related agencies.
Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim said the acceleration of PSEL development was an important step to solve the waste problem sustainably in the Bogor Raya area.
According to him, waste management cannot be carried out by one area alone, but requires collaboration between the central government, local government, TNI, to project implementers.
"So there is the TNI, there is the central government, including us, the city and district have really tried as much as possible to accelerate the groundbreaking process, so that the handling of waste from upstream to downstream can be immediately completed," said Dedie.
He is optimistic that the involvement of the Coordinating Ministry for Food and Agriculture will accelerate the completion of various technical obstacles that are still faced in the field.
"Insyaallah with this we can accelerate all things that are still obstacles or obstacles in the field," he said.
Deputy for Coordination of Affordability and Food Security of the Coordinating Ministry for Food, Agriculture, and Fisheries, Nani Hendiarti, said the central government continued to coordinate the preparation of the project with the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, and Danantara as the developer.
According to Nani, the land with an area of 8.7 hectares which was prepared for the construction of PSEL is now entering the maturation stage through cut and fill work. The location will also be integrated with fly ash and bottom ash (FABA) processing facilities.
He explained that the land position was considered strategic because it was adjacent to the pyrolysis facility to be built by the TNI. Later, the pyrolysis facility will handle old waste piles at the Final Disposal Site (TPA), while PSEL will process new waste that comes in every day.
"So this is more strategic. The land is relatively flat, there is only a little work of cut and fill so that it can be accelerated. The most important thing is the direction of the Coordinating Minister for Food so that the implementation of this PSEL project can immediately run," said Nani.
Meanwhile, Deputy Regent of Bogor Ade Ruhandi said that cooperation between the Bogor City Government and the Bogor Regency Government in waste management has been established for a long time and is now strengthened through central government support.
According to him, the program initiated by President Prabowo Subianto is an opportunity to present a modern and sustainable waste management system for the Bogor Raya area.
"Cities and regencies are very welcoming. So I invite all parties that the issue of waste is indeed quite long. Let's support this development together so that it can be realized soon," said Ade.
The government targets that the land maturation process can be completed in two to three days or at most ten days in the future so that the groundbreaking of PSEL Bogor Raya can be carried out according to the target at the beginning of August 2026.
