Deputy Governor Riza Is Considered To Be More Open, Observer: There Is An Ambition Towards DKI 1

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria have different attitudes in several policies in the capital.

In February, Anies and Deputy Governor Riza had different opinions about vaccination in Jakarta, while this March the two of them had different views on the use of sidewalks for skateboarders (Skater).

Public policy observer Trubus Rahadiansyah said that compared to Anies, Deputy Governor Riza has recently been more open and conveyed information as is to the public. Riza also often quick in dealing with questions from the citizens.

For example, the share ownership of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government liquor to the handling of flood problems.

"Riza is indeed much more open in the matter of provincial government policies. So then I see that Anies is closed in giving statements too but not too much but puts forward his work. Because Anies also has The Governor's Team for the Acceleration of Development (TGUPP) behind him," explained Trubus when contacted by VOI, Sunday, March 7.

Trubus explained that at the beginning when Gerindra politicians were chosen to support Anies, the situation was different because Anies and Riza looked matched. Why is this time so different? According to Trubus, it has something to do with political contestation towards the 2024 DKI Regional Head Election. Apart from skateboarding, the difference in their attitudes can be seen in the vaccinations and the floods in DKI Jakarta.

"Riza took a moment because he knew that in 2022, Anies had finished his term of office. So he took the moment, especially he is a party member of the Gerindra party. It appears to be in relation to the 2024 Regional Head Elections, right?", explained Trubus.

Apart from the political interests ahead of the DKI Regional Head Election (Pilkada) or Presidential Election, Trubus asked Riza and Anies to collaborate in providing information to the citizens of DKI. If necessary, the provincial government policy is conveyed only one door.

"I suggest that now collaborate so as not to confuse the public, so that information is one door. Maybe Governor Anies is better off giving it, so Anies explains it to the public", he explained.

For information, Deputy Governor Riza forbids skaters from using the sidewalk to show their skills. This is because the provincial government has prepared the facilities so that they can be used properly.

"If you refer to the Law regulations that have a function, sidewalks are for pedestrians, right? For skateboards, we have provided facilities in many places. the places are in several places, some are in Kalijodo, Dukuh Atas, under the Slipi flyover, under the Pasar Rebo flyover, in Senayan, in many places", Deputy Governor Riza told reporters, Friday, March 5.

Unlike the Deputy Governor Riza. Governor Anies actually provided space for skaters to explore skills on the sidewalk. The requirements are easy, it is to pay attention to health protocols.

"Enjoy Jakarta, take advantage of all its facilities, build feelings of friendship and brotherhood, God willing, Jakarta will feel like a city for everyone", said Anies after meeting skateboarder Satria Vijie at the City Hall of DKI Jakarta, Thursday, March 4.

Not only skateboards, Governor Anies and Deputy Governor Riza are also different about vaccination in DKI. Anies does not care about vaccines because it is an offer. Departing from this, DKI residents may or may not accept it.

"This vaccine is just the beginning. So, we are currently offering it. If it is offered, it it's up to you whether you want to take it or not. So, we are in this phase of the offering with the hope that this can help prevent exposure in places where there is a lot of interaction", said Anies.

On the other hand, Deputy Governor Riza was much more assertive. Vaccination for COVID-19 is mandatory for residents because there is a Presidential Decree Number 14 of 2021. In Article 13A paragraph (4), people who have been designated as vaccine recipients but have not participated in vaccinations will have their social assistance postponed.

In addition, DKI has Regional Regulation Number 2 of 2020 regarding the response to COVID-19. Article 30 states that every person who deliberately refuses to receive treatment and/or vaccination for COVID-19 will be punished with a maximum fine of IDR 5.000.000.

"We live in a state ruled by laws, the regional regulations regarding the control of COVID-19 have regulated anyone who refuses to be vaccinated, as long as he is registered, of course, he will receive a fine of IDR 5 million. On the other hand, the President pays attention to those who refuse vaccines, the support of social assistance from the central government will be removed", Riza told reporters, Wednesday, February 17.
