Anies: Prabowo Patriot, Of Course Understands Good Democracy Accepts Opposition As Partner Of The State

JAKARTA - Presidential Candidate Anies Baswedan stated that he would remain on the path of the change movement. Even about the decision to be on the opposition line, it is believed that Prabowo will respect him.

"I was asked many times by personal opinion about Pak Prabowo, and I said he was a patriot. Today I continue to believe as a patriot, he is a person who has experienced modern education from a young age and comes from a very respected intellectual family," said Anies Baswedan, Monday, April 22.

Based on that view, Anies believes Prabowo will accept the existence of the opposition as a partner.

"So Pak Prabowo certainly understands that in a good democracy, he accepts the existence of the opposition as a partner in the state. Maintaining the balance and independence of three branches of power, namely executive, legislative and judicial branches," said Anies.

Anies also believes that Prabowo's leadership will maintain Indonesia's demoocracy values.

"Therefore, today we state that for us, the 2024 presidential election process has passed all phases. We convey to Pak Prabowo and Pak Gibran that they have safely carried out the constitutional mandate, good luck working to fulfill the expectations of the people who are now carried on the shoulders of the two of you," said Anies.
