JAKARTA xAI failed to update its chatbot model on time. Last July, Elon Musk as the founder of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) company said that xAI would release Grok 3 by the end of 2024.
"The 3rd year after training at 100 thousand H100 should be something special," Musk said through his X account. "Grok 3 will be a big leap forward."
However, until now, the Grok model has not been updated according to the billionaire's promise. Signs of its launch are also not visible. It is unclear what challenges the company faces, but it looks like Grok 3 will be released longer than expected.
AI Tibor Blaho information leak on X, citing TechCrunch, said that the code on the website xAI shows the Grok 2.5 model. Most likely, the company will launch an intermediary model before releasing the Grok 3 version.
This isn't the first time Musk has promised or leaked something and failed to achieve this. Apparently, Musk considers his promise a goal because in one of the interviews, the owner of Neuralink said that failure could occur.

"Hopefully," Musk said when asked on Lex Fridman's podcast about Grok's sophistication 3. "I mean, this is his goal. We may fail to achieve this goal. That's his aspiration."
Despite the slow launch of Grok 3, xAI is trying to catch up with other chatbot models by developing independent applications for Grok. Currently, chatbots that are only available to X users will also be available to the wider community.
xAI is testing the Grok mobile app for iOS devices. Currently, the beta version of the chatbot application can only be accessed by users in Australia and other listed countries.
In addition to creating the iOS version of the application, xAI is also developing a special website with the Grok.com URL so that the chatbot can be accessed via a browser. The company did not specify when the Grok app would be available on Android.
