JAKARTA - Deputy chairman of the Indonesian Regional Representative Council (DPD) Sultan B Najamudin appreciated the steps taken by the Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) to block accounts of online gamblers.

Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Mahendra Siregar said the blocking was carried out from the end of 2023 to March 2024.

"If we receive a list of accounts that are suspected to be used or being used as part of online gambling activities, we will immediately block them. The amount is around 5,000 accounts in recent months," Mahendra said at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Thursday, April 18.
