Protected By LPSK, Former SYL Adjutant Dare To Dismantle Firli Bahuri Asking For IDR 50 Billion To Submission Of Money

JAKARTA - The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) provided protection for Panji Hartanto, former aide to Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL during the trial process of the alleged extortion and gratification case at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan).

During the trial, Panji Hartanto had revealed a new fact, namely the handover of a bag containing dollars and Firli Bahuri asked SYL for Rp50 billion.

"LPSK has agreed to provide protection to Panji in accordance with the trial of the LPSK Leadership Court (SMPL) on Monday 27 November 2023. The Panji received protection in the form of physical protection during the examination process as a witness and fulfillment of procedural rights," said Deputy chairman of LPSK Susilaningtias in his statement, Wednesday, April 17.

Not only physical protection, LPSK will also coordinate with the Chairman of the Central Jakarta District Court regarding special spaces while in the Corruption Court. The goal is to keep Panji safe from potential disturbances.

"Not only during the trial, LPSK will also monitor physical conditions, residences, or protected workplaces after providing information as witnesses. Security is also needed if there is a serious threat to protected LPSK by bringing protected houses to safe houses or shelters," he said.

Apart from Panji, LPSK also provides protection for HT, who is the driver of SYL. Then, UN as the honorary staff.

For HT, he received a physical protection program during the examination process as a witness and fulfillment of Procedural Rights.

"LPSK rejects the application submitted by SYL and MH on the grounds that it does not comply with Article 28 paragraph (1) of Law Number 31/2014 concerning the Protection of Witnesses and Victims, both of them are suspects and detained by the KPK," said Susilaningtias.
