Israel's Turn To Attack Lebanon

JAKARTA - Israel attacked buildings in Lebanon's mainstay, reports said.

Israeli airstrikes destroyed buildings in Lebanon's mainland, northeast of Beirut's capital, on Sunday, April 14, quoted by CNN from the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA).

The Israeli military told CNN they could not confirm the report.

Tensions between neighboring Israel and Lebanon have risen since October 7, with frequent rocket attacks between the two countries.

Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah has repeatedly expressed its support for the Palestinian people in Gaza and their resistance to Israeli attacks on civilian territories.

Israeli attacks in the mainlandek region are rarer considering the region is located further north towards Lebanon, about (50 miles) 80 kilometers from the Israel-Lebanon border.

Last week, the Israeli military said it attacked four locations of the Hezbollah air defense unit in the mainlandek region.

As previously reported, more than 55 rockets were fired from Lebanon into Israel over the past hour, according to an Israeli military spokesman.

This came after about 40 rockets were fired at Israel from southern Lebanon on Friday, April 12, according to Israeli military forces (IDF), CNN reported.

Militant Hezbollah said it had fired rockets into Israeli artillery positions in retaliation for the recent Israeli attack and to support the Palestinian people in Gaza.
