More Than 1.5 Million Vehicles Leave Jabodetabek During Eid Holidays

A total of 1,564,278 vehicles are estimated to have left the Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) areas during the period D-7 to Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri/2024, from April 3 to 10, 2024.

Head of the Corporate Communication Group & Community Development of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, stated that this amount includes traffic from the four Barrier / Main Toll Gates (GT), namely Cikupa GT (direction to Merak), Ciawi GT (direction to Puncak), Cikampek Utama GT (direction to Trans Java), and Kalihurip Utama GT (direction to Bandung).

"The total volume of traffic leaving the Jabodetabek area increased by 45.58 percent when compared to normal traffic (from 1,074,528 vehicles). Compared to the Lebaran 2023 period, the total volume of this traffic also increased by 0.82 percent (of 1,551,602 vehicles)," said Faiza in Jakarta.

The distribution of traffic leaving Jabodetabek towards the three main directions is as follows: as many as 919,862 vehicles (58.80 percent) heading East (Trans Java and Bandung), 376,133 vehicles (24.05 percent) heading West (Merak), and 268,283 vehicles (17.15 percent) heading South (Puncak).

Faiza also explained that traffic leaving Jabodetabek towards Trans Java via GT Cikampek Utama and Bandung through Kalihurip Utama GT experienced a significant increase compared to normal traffic.

On the first day of Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri/Lebaran 2024, the number of vehicles leaving Jabodetabek through the four main toll gates was still relatively high, reaching 196,035 vehicles. Faiza emphasized that the majority of traffic was still heading east, especially towards Trans Java via GT Cikampek Utama and towards Bandung via GT Kalihurip Utama.

"We note a significant increase in traffic through GT Cikampek Utama and GT Kalihurip Utama, showing the high interest of the public to celebrate Eid Holidays outside the Jabodetabek area," he added.
