Cirebon Satpol PP Take Care Of Every Road Intersection During Eid To Prevent 'actions' To Beg Silver Man

CIREBON - Cirebon City Civil Service Police Unit, West Java, is intensifying raid operations at all crossroads in the city to curb'silver people' begging during Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri/Eid 2024. "Currently, there is an increase in public order disturbances, namely the rise of beggars and silver people who are often met at red light intersections," said Head of the Public Order and Order Division of the Cirebon City Satpol PP Muhammad Lutfi Iqbal when confirmed in Cirebon, Antara, Wednesday, April 10. He said the presence of a silver man (a person with a body coloring silver) who asked motorists on the highway for alms could disrupt the flow of traffic because the movement of travelers is still ongoing today. According to Lutfi, from the monitoring results, there are three new points in Cirebon City where silver people gather to beg. "There are three new points added for silver people. We estimate that during the Eid season their number will increase by 10 percent," he said. Lutfi gave an example on D-1 Lebaran, Tuesday (9/4), Satpol PP personnel met several silver people gathered at the intersection of Jalan Pemuda Kota Cirebon. However, when he was about to be put in order, the silver man group consisting of two to three immediately fled from the officers' pursuit. "It does take a special strategy to secure or curb them (silver people)," he said. Lutfi said several items used to beg for silver people were confiscated by officers to provide a deterrent effect for the perpetrators. The control operation will continue to be carried out to reduce disturbances to public order, as well as to impose strict sanctions in accordance with applicable regulations. "Yes, maybe during Lebaran, they want to look for additional opportunities. From field monitoring, most people in the city are themselves. We also have local regulations for sanctions for silver people," he said.

Cirebon City Satpol PP appealed to the public not to give money to beggars, buskers and silver people on the highway because there are certain sanctions if this is done.
