CIANJUR - Cianjur Resort Police, West Java, arrested two detainees who escaped from the Cianjur District Court. Both detainees, Raihan and M Akbar were also shot by officers for resisting arrest. The arrest of the two detainees took place in Bekasi, Sunday, April 7. Cianjur Police Chief, AKBP Aszhari Kurniawan said, of the seven detainees who escaped after undergoing trial at the Cianjur District Court, four of them had been arrested again and only three were still being chased by officers. "Both of them had to be shot in the calf for resisting officers and trying to escape when they were about to be arrested, both of them were arrested while working as warehouse guards in the Bekasi jurisdiction," he said as quoted by Antara, Monday, April 8. Meanwhile, three detained people who are still at large, he said, are still being chased by officers. His party asked the three of them to surrender or the officers would take decisive action, especially when they resisted when they were about to be arrested. One of the three suspects who are still at large, Ujang alias Boncel, is the mastermind of the action of breaking into the toilet track in the detention room at the Cianjur District Court, which will be charged with multiple articles including articles on destroying state-owned facilities. "If they do not surrender, the officers will take decisive and measured action, especially against the officers when they want to be arrested," he said. Currently, he added, his party emphasizes the families of suspects who are still on the run to cooperate with the police and not help or hide fugitives, those who are proven to be helping will be charged with the article of obstructing officers. "If there are family parties who help prisoners escape, they will be charged with the article of obstructing officers in the investigation process and other articles," said Aszhari.
