Deadly Accident On KM 58 Japek Toll Road, Kakorlantas Names 14 Victims Including Kernet Bus

JAKARTA - The deadly accident between Grandmax-Bus Primajasa and Terios on the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) Toll Road section. There were already 14 victims in the incident. Police Traffic Head Inspector General Pol Aan Suhanan said 12 body bags had been evacuated from the Grandmax car. Two other victims of the Primajasa Bus kernet and passengers in the Terios car.

"The victim of the bus involved was a bus driver. Then, from the Terios vehicle there was one minor injury. Then, from Grandmax, here, we had 12 body bags that we took to the Karawang Hospital. So, we have not been able to identify them because the victims were all burned," said Aan in his official statement at the scene, Monday, April 8.

Aan said that his party could not confirm the number of victims who died. This is because the identification process for victims is still being carried out.

"There are 12 bags (of bodies). Later, the DVI team will identify all of them from the Grandmax car," he added.

He added that currently traffic engineering (traffic) contraflow is being stopped to speed up the evacuation process from all vehicles.

"We have temporarily suspended contraflows to facilitate the flow from Jakarta," he said.

According to Aan, later the traffic engineering will be used as material for evaluation with his party. "Of course all, we will evaluate contraflow and everything for mutual safety," he said.

As previously reported, as many as three vehicles were involved in an accident on KM 58 of the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) toll road while traffic engineering was being implemented contraflow today.

Based on the video uploaded by VOI on the X @manurtuwun social media account, Monday, April 8, the three vehicles involved were Terios and Grandmax against the Primajasa Bus.

As a result of this incident, the Terios and Grandmax vehicles were immediately burned down.
