Prevent Density, Homecomers Must Not Long In The Rest Area Of Toll Roads

Homecomers should not linger in the toll road rest area (doc. Jasa Marga).

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said travelers should not linger in the toll road rest area to prevent congestion. They will be given only half an hour to rest.

"We suggest that the rest area should not be limited, it should not take long. Only half an hour," Listyo told reporters in the Monas Court area, Central Jakarta, Saturday, April 6, 2024.

If people need longer to rest or have their full rest area, they can get out of the toll road and enter the arterial route.

"On the arterial route, there are also many places that can be an option to rest for a while, maybe some kind of culinary and so on," he said.

"Meanwhile, for the rest area itself, for those who are full, the car will be given a sign. There is transportation in front of it which then provides an opportunity to provide rest areas to other places, while we arrange conditions for entry and exit in our own rest area," said Listyo.

Previously reported, travelers have started crowding toll roads. PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk noted that 551,876 vehicles left the Jabotabek area on D-7 to D-5 Idulfitri 1445 Hijri or on Wednesday to Friday, April 3-5, 2024.

This figure is the cumulative traffic flow (traffic) of the four Main Toll Gates (GT), namely Cikupa GT (direction to Merak), Ciawi GT (direction to Puncak), Cikampek Utama GT (direction to Trans Java), and Kalihurip Utama GT (direction to Bandung).

"The total volume of traffic leaving the Jabotabek area increased by 33.17 percent compared to normal traffic, which is 414,410 vehicles. When compared to the Lebaran 2023 period, the total volume of this traffic was 11.70 percent or 494,091 vehicles," said Jasa Marga Marketing and Communication Department Head, Faiza Riani, in a statement, Saturday, April 6, 2024.
