Megawati Laughs Asked Otto Hasibuan To Witness At The Constitutional Court: I Am Happy To Respond

Chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri laughed when she heard the lawyer for the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming camp, Otti Hasibuan asked her to testify in the 2024 presidential election dispute trial at the Constitutional Court (MK).

Megawati's reaction was told by PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto when reporting the conditions at the Constitutional Court. The general chairman admitted that he was ready if the information was needed.

"At that time I told Mrs. Mega, she laughed and then she said, 'I see, if I am called as a witness at the Constitutional Court, I will be very happy to respond to that'," Hasto told reporters imitating Megawati's statement, Tuesday, April 2.

Hasto said Megawati was confirmed to attend the trial. PDIP cadres will also oversee the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia.

Moreover, the trial at the Constitutional Court aims to uphold democracy which is suspected of being colored by various frauds in its implementation. "So Mrs. Mega is ready to be presented and she will come," he said.

"We will guard it as well as possible," said Hasto.

As previously reported, Otto had reacted in response to the request of the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD camp to summon the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani and the Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini at the trial of the election dispute. He said that his party could ask Megawati Soekarnoputri as the General Chair of the PDIP to be presented.

"If he asks the minister, we also ask Mrs. Megawati to be summoned, will she? That's the problem, right," said Otto after the trial at the Constitutional Court building, Jakarta, Thursday, March 28.

However, this intention was brought down by the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka camp.
