Road To East Lombok Sembalun Closed By Landslide, Police: No Casualties

NTB - Road access from Suele Village to Sembalun, East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), covered by landslides and fallen trees.

Landslides and fallen trees were caused by heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds recently.

"Indeed, there was a landslide, members were checking the location," said East Lombok Police Chief Ipda Lalu M Ihsan in Mataram, NTB, Monday, April 1, as reported by Antara.

As a result of the landslide, the road was covered by land and trees, causing vehicles coming from Suele to Sembalun to turn around through the Pringgebaya-Sambelia route. As soon as the road access from Sambalun has to pass through Sambelia.

"As a result of the landslide there were no casualties," he said.

Meanwhile, officers from the police are already at the location to provide understanding to the public about the condition of roads buried by landslides and fallen trees.

Meanwhile, Head of Public Relations of the East Lombok Police, Iptu Nicolas Oesman, said that his party had received reports of landslides blocking the road. To pave the road, according to him, you have to use heavy equipment.

"The landslide that occurred was severe enough to block the road, so as a result, road users had to turn around, only to get to their destination," said Nicolas.
