The Moment During The Constitutional Court Was Reprimanded By The KPU's Attorney As A Result Of Tanjung Hasyim Asy'ari

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Constitutional Court (MK) Suhartoyo reprimanded the attorney for the General Election Commission (KPU) Hifdzil Alim in the dispute trial over the results of the 2024 presidential election today.

Initially, Hifdzil read out a statement in the KPU's written answer as the defendant in the trial case. Hifdzil revealed that the violation of the KPU chairman for the 2022-2027 period Hasyim Asy'ari was not more than the previous KPU chairman.

"In fact, when compared to the previous KPU, there were more violations of the KPU chairman in the past period," said Hifdzil in a follow-up hearing on the 2024 General Election Result Dispute (PHPU) at the Constitutional Court Building, Jakarta, Thursday, March 28.

"The point is that even though it is called going back and forth (in the petition petitum), the chairman of the KPU Hasyim Asy'ari, the election will still be held and the accountability of the election will still be maintained. It would be great to mean Mr. Hasyim," he continued.

Hifdzil's last statement, which praised Hasyim, was not in the written text of the KPU's answer. Before Hifdzil continued, Suhartoyo immediately cut and reprimanded him.

"What is written is read out. Don't add it up. It's done, it's continued. So what's written is just what is written," said Suhartoyo.

During the trial, the KPU denied the petitums of Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD's lawsuits regarding fraud-fraud during the 2024 election.

Anies-Muhaimin asked the Constitutional Court to ask the KPU to re-vote by disqualifying Gibran Rakabuming Raka as vice presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto.

Meanwhile, Ganjar-Mahfud asked the KPU to re-vote by disqualifying candidate pairs number 2, Prabowo and Gibran.

Meanwhile, the KPU asked the Constitutional Court not to grant the request. The KPU also asked the Constitutional Court to state that the results of the 2024 presidential election vote recapitulation were correct and still valid.
