JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Prabowo Defenders Team Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Otto Hasibuan, said there was no legal basis regarding the re-implementation of the General Election (Pemilu) process.

The statement was made in response to the requests of the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD camp as applicants for disputes or Disputes over General Election Results (PHPU).

Otto initially alluded to the inauguration process for the elected president and vice president to be held on October 20. This is to prevent the vacancy of the country's leaders.

However, the results of the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres) have not been fully completed. This is because there are lawsuits from the presidential and vice presidential candidates number 1 and 3.

"The results of the presidential election do not end, as forced by the petitioner, it is not impossible that the most important state administration agenda for the Indonesian nation will be missed or cannot be carried out," Otto said during a trial at the Constitutional Court, Thursday, March 28.

Therefore, the issue or dispute over the General Election Result Dispute (PHPU) must be resolved immediately so that there will be no vacancies.

"This is the essence of legal politics and the period for resolving election disputes by the above agencies. Spies ensure that the Indonesian strict agenda can be orderly and on time," he continued.

Otto stated that the petitioners for the re-election would only harm the state. Moreover, there is no legal basis for the implementation of the 2024 election contestation.

"If the election stages will be repeated as the applicant wishes, then the re-election will have no legal basis, either in the 1945 Constitution or the Election Law," said Otto.

Meanwhile, the Anies-Cak Imin and Ganjar-Mahfud camps sued the results of the 2024 presidential election to the Constitutional Court. They asked for the 2024 presidential election to be repeated.

In addition, Anies-Cak Imin also requested that the Constitutional Court decide that the presidential election be held again without Gibran's involvement as a contestant.

Meanwhile, Ganjar-Mahfud requested that the presidential election be held again no later than June 26, 2024 without Prabowo-Gibran.
