YOGYAKARTA Entrepreneur and husband of Sandra Dewi, Harvey Moeis is one of the parties named as a suspect in the alleged corruption case of tin commodity trading in the Mining Business License (IUP) area of PT TIMah Tbk 2015-2022. Harvey Moeis is a coal entrepreneur. He is reportedly after the coal mine in Bangka Belitung, which is none other than his wife's hometown.

One of the companies run by Harvey, namely PT Multi Harapan Utama (MHU).

Based on information listed on the Indonesian Coal Mining Association (APBI-ICMA) website, Harvey Moeis served as president commissioner at PT MHU.

Harvey-led companies are engaged in the mining sector, particularly coal mines.

PT MHU operates in Kutai Kartanegara Regency and Samarinda City, East Kalimantan.

Domestically, MHU coal is widely used for power plants, factories, and manufacturing companies.

Most of the coal produced by MHU is also exported to a number of countries such as South Korea, India, China, Bangladesh, Vietnam, the Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia, Malaysia, and Thailand.

Apart from managing PT MHU, Harvey also owns shares in a number of other coal companies, such as PT Refined Bangka Tin, PT Sarijuna Bina Sentosa, PT Stanindo Inti Perkasa CV Venus Inti Perkasa, and PT Tinindo Inter Nusa.

The role of Harvei Moeis in the alleged corruption case of tin commodity trading was revealed by the Director of Investigation of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General's Office Kuntadi.

Kuntadi said that Harvey's role was to accommodate illegal miners. Harvey, who is a representative of PT Rifined Bangka Tin (RBT), communicated with the suspect MRPT alias RZ as the President Director of PT Timah Tbk. The purpose of the communication is to accommodate illegal tin mining

"That around 2018 to 2019 the suspect HM contacted the Main Directorate of PT Timah, namely MRPT in order to accommodate illegal mining activities in the IUO area of PT Timah," Kuntadi told reporters, Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

After Harvey Moeis and MRPT met repeatedly, they were agreed on accommodating the illegal miners.

However, to disguise it, it is used as a mode as if there was cooperation in renting tin smelting equipment.

"Finally, it was agreed that the illegal mining accommodator activity was covered by rental activities to rent tin smelting processing equipment," continued Kuntadi.

In addition, Harvey Moeis also invited four other companies to be involved in accommodating these illegal miners. The companies include PT SIP; CV VIF; PT SPS; and PT TIN.

After everything went on, the suspect asked the smelters to provide the benefits they had made.

The distribution of money also uses the mode of distributing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds through the company Helena Lim.

"The suspect HM asked the smelters to fill out some of their profits, handed over to the person concerned under the pretext of paying CSR funds sent by these smelters to the person concerned through PT QSE facilitated by the suspect HLN," said Kuntadi.

In this case, Sandara Dewi's husband was immediately detained at the Salemba Rutan at the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office for the next 20 days. The reason is to simplify the investigation process.

In this case, Harvey Moeis is suspected of violating Article 2 paragraph 1 and Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of the Corruption Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to 1 of the Criminal Code.
