Asahan Police Seize 6 Kilograms Of Crystal Methamphetamine From Malaysia Network

The Asahan Resort Police (Polres), North Sumatra confiscated six kilograms of methamphetamine which was a disclosure from the Malaysian network.

"From the disclosure, a man with the initials HI, a Acehnese, was arrested who came from Malaysia," said Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Hadi Wahyudi, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 27.

The Asahan Police Narcotics Unit, assisted by the North Sumatra Police Airud Unit, intercepted HI who came from Malaysia by boarding a fast boat on Sunday (18/4).

The evidence was brought by the suspect from Malaysia on March 15 through a port in Malaysia.

"When he arrived in Indonesian waters, his colleague A planned to pick him up, but after waiting for approximately 3 hours the pick-up never came," said Hadi.

HI had thought about turning back to return to Malaysia, but before the officers arrested the suspect in Asahan.

Hadi emphasized that the North Sumatra Regional Police and their ranks continue to intensify the prosecution of drug eradication with increased routine activities (KRYD) as a priority program.

"The North Sumatra Police have never stopped hunting down dealers and drug networks, anyone involved has been dealt with firmly," he said.

Previously, the police also arrested Asahan with suspects M and J with evidence of methamphetamine weighing one kilogram which was a disclosure of the Malaysian network.

Hadi explained that suspect M was ordered by Medan residents to go to Malaysia to buy narcotics methamphetamine with a lucrative salary. Then, M contacted J who was in Malaysia to help him find a seller of methamphetamine in Malaysia.

"They both met with A, a Malaysian resident, the boss of the crystal meth owner, then M contacted F to send money to A," he said.

The two men were paid IDR 50 million, but the wages will only be paid after drugs arrive at F in Medan.
