KPK Auctions Land And Buildings In Rajabasa Assets Of Ex-Rector Of Unila Karomani

The KPK will auction off looted goods from the convict former Chancellor of the University of Lampung (Unila) Karomani in the form of land and buildings in Rajabasa Village, Bandarlampung, covering an area of 617 square meters.

"KPK through the Bandarlampung State Wealth and Auction Service Office (KPKNL) will conduct a booty auction based on the decision of the Corruption Court which has permanent force on the convict Karomani," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri in his statement quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 26.

The auction object is a plot of land with an area of 617 square meters on it, which stands a building of 750 square meters.

The land and buildings located in Rajabasa Village, Bandarlampung are also equipped with a title certificate (SHM) No. 01845.

The object will be auctioned at a limit price of IDR 6,437,769,000.00 and a security deposit of IDR 2,000,000,000.00.

Ali explained that the auction will be held through an open bidding type with the implementation on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at the Bandarlampung KPKNL on Jl. Basuki Rahmat No.12 Talang Village, Teluk Betung Selatan District, Bandarlampung City, Lampung.

Based on the decision of the panel of judges at the Corruption Court, the convict Karomani, who is a former Chancellor of the University of Lampung (Unila), was sentenced to 10 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 400 million, provided that if the fine was not paid, it was replaced with imprisonment for four months.

The Panel of Judges also imposed additional penalties on Karomani to pay compensation of Rp. 8,075 billion and 10 thousand Singapore dollars.
