A Total Of 107 Rabies Infectious Animals Were Vaccinated By Officers

A total of 107 rabies-contagious animals (HPR) were vaccinated by the East Jakarta Marine and Agricultural Food Security Sub-dept. in the Integrated Child Friendly Public Space (RPTRA) Payung Tunas Lotus, Cipayung District, East Jakarta.

The rabies vaccination has been going on for four days since last Monday, March 25.

"The implementation of rabies vaccination at the Teratai Tunas Payung RPTRA has been going on for two days," said Head of the Cipayung District KPKP Sub-dept., Nur Hikmah when confirmed, Tuesday, March 26.

According to him, the vaccination is to prevent the spread of rabies disease and maintain DKI Jakarta as a rabies-free province by 2024.

"We want to keep the East Jakarta area, especially the rabies zero," he said.

On the first day of vaccination, 51 HPRs were vaccinated against rabies, namely 37 cats, 13 dogs, and 1 civet. While on the second day, there were a total of 56 HPRs, with details of 34 cats, 22 dogs.

"This will still increase because vaccination activities are still being carried out 'door to door' to residents' homes," he said.

He also appealed to residents in the Cipayung Village area who want to vaccinate rabies to come to the Cipayung RPTRA.

"We hope that residents take advantage of their time because this vaccination is free and free of charge. In addition to keeping their pets healthy and avoiding rabies transmission and keeping the Cipayung District 'zero rabies'," he said.

The East Jakarta KPKP Sub-Department has also vaccinated 14,691 HPR throughout 2023. With details, 2,404 dogs, 12,163 cats, 79 apes and 45 civets.

This rabies vaccination service is carried out routinely every year targeting pets from cat shoes, dogs, apes and civets.
