Unloading Illegal Liquor Factory, Malang Police Secures Its Scavengers

JATIM - Malang Resort Police (Polres) dismantled a factory that manufactures illegal and mixed liquor in Krajan Hamlet, Malang Regency, East Java (East Java).

Malang Police Narcotics Unit Head AKP Aditya Permana said his party arrested one perpetrator with the initials FA aged 36 years related to the illegal liquor factory case.

"We have arrested a man with the initials FA who is strongly suspected of being the perpetrator," said Aditya in Kepanjen, Malang Regency, Sunday, March 24, which was confiscated by Antara.

The FA, which was arrested by the Malang Police Narcotics Unit, is suspected to be investors and makers of liquor without permission.

In addition, the FA is also indicated to distribute liquor of the type of wine without a permit.

The disclosure of the production of illegal liquor in Gedangan District, he said, began when the police received information about a drinking party in the surrounding area at night.

After receiving this information, on Saturday, March 23, the Malang Police Narcotics Unit team conducted an investigation. The police were then able to identify the identity of the perpetrator and conduct a search at his house.

During the search of the perpetrator's house, the police confiscated a number of evidences, such as 5 distiller equipment, 5 250 liter cooler drums, 1 filter drum, 2 shelter drums, and a gas cylinder with a capacity of 8 kilograms.

"We also confiscated hundreds of bottles of 1.5 liters of packaged wine and a large jerry can filled with wine ready for distribution. The perpetrators and evidence were then taken to the Malang Police for further investigation," he added.

The perpetrators distilled illegal liquor in the backyard of his house. Based on the perpetrator's statement, the manufacture of the wine was self-taught so that it was not known for certain the alcohol content he produced.

"The perpetrators produced illegal liquor such as Trobas wine in the backyard of his house, there was no definite dose in the production," he said.

Malang Police emphasized that the circulation of illegal liquor does not only have an impact on individual health, but can trigger other criminal acts.

Aditya appealed to the public to actively report if they knew of the existence of an illegal liquor factory.

"We will take firm action against the perpetrators and producers of the illegal liquor in accordance with applicable law," said Aditya.

FA has been named a suspect and detained at the Malang Police Detention Center.

The perpetrator will be subject to Article 204 (1) of the Criminal Code with a maximum imprisonment of 15 years.
