JAKARTA - Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, asked the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government not to use normative methods in resolving congestion and flooding as a major problem in the capital city.

This is in response to the 2024 Development Plan Deliberation (Musrenbang) activity at the administrative district/city level to prepare a regional government work plan (RKPD) for 2025.

"I see that there are still many copy couple activities. If it continues like this, what about the progress of Jakarta," Prasetyo said in his statement, Friday, March 22.

This member of the PDIP faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD views that solving the flood problem under the leadership of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono requires a breakthrough.

For example, in overcoming congestion and flooding in Central Jakarta, Prasetyo suggested that the government increase cooperation with the private sector, academics, and the community.

"We need to do careful planning, good implementation, and continuous evaluation to ensure the success of the programs that we will run," said Prasetyo.

Yesterday, Heru Budi opened the Central Jakarta Musrenbang in 2024. It is said that the Central Jakarta City Government will focus on implementing six programs in the 2025 RKPD.

Each Flood Handling, Stunting Reduction, Poverty Reduction, Creative Economy Development and Tourism, Improvement of Waste Management and Quality Improvement of Acceleration and Ease of Public Services.

In flood prevention, the government focused on flood prevention efforts through the construction of drainage at 22 points for the construction of floodgates. In addition, maintaining flood control facilities and infrastructure.

The second priority is stunting prevention. In 2023, DKI Jakarta managed to reduce the stunting rate with a prevalence of 3.3 percent of the national target of 14 percent. For this reason, in 2025 the stunting rate reduction target will be intensified.

The third priority is poverty reduction. Central Jakarta will focus on efforts to reduce extreme poverty through increasing people's income and productivity, as well as improving the quality of public settlements.

The fourth priority that will be carried out is the development of the creative economy and tourism. This is intended as an effort to develop the economy and focus on developing competency commitments, profile training, and empowering creative economy actors and the community.

As for tourism, it will focus on developing leading tourist destinations, as well as building partnerships with media businesses and influencers in tourism promotions.

Then, the fifth priority program that is planned is waste management. By 2025, DKI Jakarta's target is an effort to improve waste management in an independent area by strengthening waste banks.

The sixth priority is improving the quality of accessibility and also the ease of public services. This focuses on efforts to increase the community satisfaction index for public service performance.
