DEMAK - Residents affected by flooding in Demak Regency expect the government to normalize the river and continue to pay attention to flood-affected residents in the district.

Meanwhile, Sumartini, a refugee at Wisma Halim, Demak Regency, told about her struggle during the flood period. He said that from the first day to the last day in the evacuation, residents tried to save their belongings and pump water so that they could reduce inundation in their homes.

"Incidentally, the last day the regent has taken a dose of it. Thank God the water could be lacking," he said.

Sumartini also hopes that the government can normalize the river and continue to pay attention to the affected residents. President Jokowi's presence at the evacuation post also gave encouragement to residents affected by the flood.

"Alhamdulillah, Mr. Jokowi was present, he cared for the residents. The regent too, the sub-district head too. Alhamdulillah there is Mr. Jokowi, thank you very much for paying attention to the citizens," he said.
