NTB - The Mataram City Government (Pemkot) has increased security supervision at Teras Udayana following the vandalism practice in the city's new icon creative space.

"We admit that the Udayana Terrace Arrangement has not been completed, especially for handling security, resulting in vandalism," said Mataram Mayor H Mohan Roliskana in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Wednesday, March 20, as reported by Antara.

The vandalism carried out by unscrupulous residents by breaking flower pots in the Udayana Teras area on Saturday, March 16, 2024.

Mohan admits that vandalism is a challenge for the government to open new public facilities every time. However, he ensured that the Mataram City Government would not remain silent by making improvements and improving security.

"Therefore, I have asked the relevant agencies to reorganize and prepare flower pots like the previous case on the South Ring Road," he said.

In addition, security improvements will be carried out by installing hidden cameras or CCTV, and the addition of park lighting facilities as well as structuring the front terrace.

With this CCTV, Mohan hopes that one time the perpetrators of vandalism can be caught and prosecuted according to existing regulations.

On the other hand, he continued, currently Teras Udayana can only be used in the afternoon until evening. Meanwhile, in the morning until noon, the area cannot be used due to open and hot conditions.

"Therefore, in addition to installing CCTV for security, we will also install aesthetic and linear canopy with the Udayana Terrace building," he said.
