The Kendal Police Preemptive Task Force held a Community Disease Raid (Pekat) on Saturday night, March 16 at a number of inns or commonly called jasmine hotels, and karaoke venues in Kendal, Central Java.

As previously stated that entering the month of Ramadan, nightclubs must comply with government regulations.

Kasat Binmas Kendal Police AKP Subekhi appealed to cafe and night entertainment entrepreneurs to comply with operating hours regulations during the month of Ramadan.

AKP Subekhi said the raid was held to reduce public ills such as prostitution, thuggery, abuse of alcohol, gambling, and drugs.

The preemptive task force carried out operations at four jasmine hotels at Weleri Market, Cepiring Market, Karangayu Village, and Gamangulu District, Kaliwungu.

"We found 4 couples who were not husband and wife (couple). Then we did data collection and guidance for the couple," said Beki.

In addition to conducting raids at hotels and inns, the team also visited crowded places such as cafes and other entertainment venues.

"This is also our operational target, because there may be acts of thuggery and others in that place that we can anticipate," he added.
