KY Spokesperson For Clarification Of The Status Of Civil Servants Who Were Fired For Drugs

JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the Judicial Commission (KY) Mukti Fajar Nur Dewata provided clarification regarding the status of a former Civil Servant (PNS) of the Rangkasbitung District Court, Danu Arman, who was dishonorably dismissed for drug matters.

Mukti explained that Danu Arman underwent a session of the Honorary Council of Judges (MKH) organized by the Judicial Commission and the Supreme Court regarding ethical issues, where sanctions for dishonorable dismissal as judges have been imposed.

However, the dismissal did not necessarily stop the status of Civil Servant Danu Arman.

"If the reported (Danu Arman) then takes care of being active again either in government or institutional offices, that's possible, but not again as a judge," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, March 15.

In this case, he continued, Danu was again active as a civil servant at the Yogyakarta High Court.

The name Danu Arman is currently written as an analyst in a court case with the rank of Penata Level I on the official website of the Yogyakarta High Court in pt-Yogyakarta.go.id.

Previously, in July 2023, the Honorary Council of Judges fired the reported judge Danu Arman for using drugs in the Rangkasbitung District Court (PN), Lebak, Banten.

"Imposing a sanction on Danu Arman with severe sanctions in the form of dishonorable dismissal," said Chairman of the Honorary Council of Judges and Chairman of the Judicial Commission (KY) Amzulian Rifai on July 18, 2023.

MKH stated that Danu Arman had been proven to have violated 5 points 5.1.1 and 7.1 decisions with the Supreme Court and KY regarding the Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct of Judges.

The sound of 5.1.1 points in the joint decision is that judges must behave unsurprisingly. Then, point 7.1 states that judges must maintain the dignity and dignity of judicial institutions and professions, both inside and outside the court.
