Lukman Edy Denies About The Right To Angket Ends In Jokowi's Impeachment, PKB: We Can't 'Nggge Mongso'

JAKARTA - Member of the PKB faction of the DPR, Luluk Nur Hamidah, denied that the right to inquiry allegations of election fraud would lead to the impeachment of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) as mentioned by former PKB Secretary General Lukman Edy. "Not necessarily, we don't know," said Luluk at the DPD RI Building, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, March 6. Luluk also dismissed the PKB heistorist faction because he took the initiative to propose the right of inquiry even though he had fought for amendments to the Constitution which regulated the president's resignation. Lukman Edy reminded Lukman not to speed up time or 'nggegege mongso'. He asked Lukman to patiently wait for the process that was running in the DPR regarding the right of inquiry. "So, I don't think we shouldn't get excited, if the Javanese have then concluded the end even though the process hasn't started the official one yet," said Luluk.

Luluk menjelaskan, semangat PKB mengajukan hak angket adalah untuk memperbaiki sistem dan melahirkan rekomendasi yang sangat bermakna agar pemilu jauh lebih kuat, adil dan demokratis. Serta hak partisipasi masyarakat juga bisa diakui.

"This is actually for all of us, not for me, not for the current members of the DPR but for maintaining dignity and also the honor that has sovereignty, the people. If the election is good, then this is the people's celebration," said Luluk.

"So if the election is right, the organizers are right, the government is also right and all state resources are also used for this very good election, so the people will be happy. Because this is for all of them," added the legislator for the Central Java electoral district.

According to Luluk, PKB is mature enough to make decisions, including the issue of the right of inquiry. He also invited Lukman Edy if he wanted to rejoin PKB.

"About Mr. Lukman Edy, that's once again because he is an ex, he welcomes back if he wants to go to PKB. But we are mature enough to make what we think is good at this time," he concluded.
