The Ministry Of Foreign Affairs Is Still Looking For The Existence Of TKW From NTT Claiming To Be Tortured By Employers In Saudi Arabia

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu) and the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh continue to try to contact Andi Darmawati, an Indonesian citizen (WNI) who claims to have received threats from her employer in Saudi Arabia.

Through a video on his social media account, Darmawati complained that she had been tortured by her employer's child by being kicked, beaten, and even threatened with her tongue cut off.

If you report the act of torture, the Indonesian citizen from Nagekeo Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) is threatened with not being paid his salary.

"The person concerned asked to be sent back to Indonesia. As soon as he received the information, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh tried to contact social media accounts and their numbers but had not received a response," said the Director of Protection for Indonesian Citizens and BHI of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Judha Nugraha in Jakarta on Tuesday, March 5, quoted by Antara.

In addition to trying to directly contact Darmawati, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs coordinated with the Nagekeo Regional Government and the NTT Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP3MI).

"The Indonesian Embassy has also communicated with Saudi Immigration to obtain data from Darmawati's employer. As soon as we get the data, we will immediately ask for consular access through the facilitation of the Saudi government which has legal jurisdiction," said Judha.

Judha further explained that the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh had also sent a diplomatic note to report this incident so that Saudi authorities could immediately take steps to save Darmawati.
