Legal Expert: The Right Of Questionnaires Is Not For Certain Candidates But As Corrections

JAKARTA - Constitutional law expert, Bivitri Susanti encourages the issuance of the right to fraud in the 2024 General Election in the Indonesian House of Representatives. This step is not to tackle Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka or impeach President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) but to prevent the same thing from happening in the future.

"We don't want to tackle certain candidate pairs but to correct the president as the highest authority holder in the country," said Bivitri in a broadcast by the former chairman of the KPK Abraham Samad quoted on Tuesday, February 5.

Bivitri said there were several frauds that were clearly seen recently, including distributing social assistance (bansos) during the campaign period.

"As if the president could do the politics of pork gentongs, distributing social assistance. This destroys democracy, the right of inquiry must be implemented to make TSM clear," he said.

This Lecturer at the Indonesian Law College in Jentera believes that the right to inquiry will be rolled out in the DPR RI. This is because the requirements are not heavy, namely that 25 members of the DPR RI from two parties only need to sign them.

"I'm sure it was formed like in 2009. Just do it first, roll it out. The problem later doesn't recommend anything, yes, it doesn't matter. Let's do the important process for us to wake the DPR from falling asleep too late," said Bivitri.

However, on the other hand, there are two political parties that must be monitored, namely the NasDem and the National Awakening Party (PKB). According to Bivitri, the two parties from the coalition pair number one, Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar (AMIN) could falter.

The two parties are also said to be still not solid about the proposed right of inquiry. "I honestly don't believe they are consistent because of maneuvers to create a new government coalition that has been carried out," he said.

"But I still have hope that as long as the push from civil society is also strong and we really give them a historical burden. Remember that if they don't support the right of inquiry, yes, they are tested for their downturn just waiting to be given a seat in the new government," concluded Bivitri.
