Wury Ma'ruf Amin: Dekranas Tiang Pembangunan Kerjinan Nasional

JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Crafts Council (Dekranas) who is also the wife of Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, Wury Estu Handayani said, Dekranas has been a handicraft development pole in Indonesia since its founding in 1980.

"Dekranas has been the main pole for the development of handicrafts in our country since its establishment on March 3, 1980," said Wury Ma'ruf Amin as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, March 3.

Wury said that currently Dekranas is growing and becomes an inspiration for many individuals.

According to him, every achievement and moment of Dekranas' success, including every challenge that has been overcome, has formed a solid foundation for the organization.

He reminded that the road and challenges ahead are still long awaited.

"With the spirit of togetherness and unshakable commitment, I believe we can face it well. Together we can fight for the vision and mission of Dekranas, especially at the end of our term of service in 2025," he explained.

Wury also appreciated the efforts of the Dekranas 44th Anniversary committee in organizing social service activities in the form of cheap basic food bazaars for the surrounding community.

"I personally am very happy because today's thanksgiving gives a very deep meaning to the community, where conditions are currently experiencing economic problems, which (with) cheap basic necessities, (when) all prices are rising, because maybe our harvest in Indonesia is not good," said Wury.

Wury also expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Trade for the contributions made to Dekranas' social service activities.

"The cheap basic food bazaar is an activity that is very useful in helping the economic burden on the community, especially in buying basic necessities at affordable prices," he said.

He conveyed that the implementation of the bazaar could not be separated from the cooperation of the committee, related ministries and donors, the management of the Neighborhood Association and Community Association (RT/RW) around the location of the Dekranas Headquarters.

He hopes that social service activities can strengthen the relationship between the management and the local community and can provide great benefits for all parties.

On that occasion, before the holy month of Ramadan, Wury also wished Muslims a happy fasting.

"Hopefully we will all be given convenience and smoothness in carrying out Ramadan," he said.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Committee for the 44th Anniversary of Dekranas Loemongga Agus Gumiwang in his report conveyed that the celebration and bazaar of cheap basic necessities was a historic moment in the 44th Anniversary of Dekranas.

"Every year Dekrasnas holds a thanksgiving," said Loemongga.

He reported that the implementation of social services and bazaars was supported by the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Trade.
