JEPARA M (70) and W (69), two elderly men languishing in the Jepara Police cell for their behavior in molesting DA, a 13-year-old girl in Jepara, Central Java. The action took place at the victim's grandmother's house, in Keling District, Jepara Regency, at different times.

Jepara Police Chief AKBP Wahyu Nugroho Setyawan explained, the modus operandi of the two suspects lured the victim with money, to comply with his request.

The first incident was on June 21, 2023. At that time, suspect M, who is also a colleague of suspect W, pretended to visit the victim's grandmother, who was sick and paralyzed.

"When the situation was quiet, suspect M saw the victim sitting alone in front of the television. Then the suspect approached the victim and persuaded him to give money if he wanted to open his shirt. After the victim took off his clothes, the suspect immediately had sexual intercourse and sexual abuse of the victim until the incident occurred three times," said AKBP Wahyu in a written statement received, Friday, March 1.

After a few months, on August 28, 2023, on the same mode, suspect W returned to visit the victim's grandmother. At that time the victim asked for money from suspect W.

The suspect seemed to have got a gap to carry out his depraved act. The victim was also given money by suspect W as long as he wanted to comply with his request again.

"Suspect W immediately committed sexual intercourse and sexual abuse against the victim. The incident also occurred three times," explained AKBP Wahyu.

W and M were finally arrested after the Jepara Police received a report from the victim's parents that their child was pregnant.

"We will definitely provide a penalty against these perpetrators as stipulated in the provisions and regulations applicable to the Child Protection Act, a maximum of 5 years and a maximum of 15 years," said AKBP Wahyu.
