Head of the Air Force Information Service (AU) First Marshal R. Agung Sasongkojati said the Indonesian Air Force would continue the plan to build an air force base (Laud) in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan (Kaltim). The airbase must be type A because it is VVIP," said Agung. Previously, the TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto explained the plan to form an Indonesian Air Force air base at IKN at the TNI-Polri Leadership Meeting in 2024 at the TNI Headquarters, Cilangkap, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 28.

In addition to the lanud, the Commander also explained the plan to form a Navy Marine Troop, special military regional command (kodam), and two new battalions of the Indonesian Army in IKN. Agus explained that the formation of the new TNI headquarters from the three dimensions was related to the management of the TNI organization as a whole, along with the relocation of the capital city of Indonesia from Jakarta to IKN. "The TNI continues to strive to perfect the organization in order to answer the dynamics of the challenges of future tasks, including the development of an integrated defense system at IKN," he said. The TNI Commander also revealed plans to change the organizational structure in the three TNI dimensions. In the Indonesian Air Force, General Agus will raise the status of five type A air bases and two type B air bases, and will form a type C air base and new squadrons.
