Strong Survey Results of Prabowo & Ganjar Pranowo, PDIP: The 2024 Presidential Election Still Far Away

JAKARTA - A number of survey agencies have put the name of Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto as the ruler in the electability of presidential candidates in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.

Apart from Prabowo, the name of the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, took second place, followed by Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok and the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan.

Regarding the results of this survey, the Partai Demokrat Indonesia Perjuangan (PDIP) still takes it casually. "The presidential election is still far away," said Secretary-General of the PDIP Regional Representative Council, Hasto Kristiyanto, Sunday, February 28.

Hasto said that PDIP is a party that works in a collective force in accordance with the spirit of mutual cooperation. This means that any movement, including future plans, will be determined collectively.

For that reason, the PDIP has not thought about the electability of the presidential and vice-presidential candidates. For now, said Hasto, PDIP chose to take consolidation steps.

"The PDI Perjuangan electoral sector continues to increase, being at number 1. We express our gratitude. We continue to make improvements internally to meet people's expectations," said Hasto.

Previously, the Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) released the results of a survey of presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election. As a result, the name of the Minister of Defense (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto became the candidate with the highest number of voters.

In a semi-open survey, 22.5 percent of respondents chose Prabowo Subianto. Furthermore, 10.6 percent chose Ganjar Pranowo, 10.2 percent chose Anies Baswedan. In the survey, it was also stated that some of Jokowi's voters moved to Ganjar Pranowo.

In the survey, the public admitted that they voted the most for Jokowi in the upcoming presidential election with 18 percent of the acquisition. Second, is Prabowo Subianto with 5.7 percent. Third, Anies Baswedan with 5.7 voters. Fourth, Ganjar Pranowo with a gain of 3.5 percent.

However, if Jokowi's name is issued because he is no longer able to participate in the 2024 presidential election, Prabowo Subianto is in the top rank with 22.5 percent of voters. Uniquely, the name Ganjar overtook the second place at 10.6 percent and Anies at 10.2 percent.

"If Mr. Jokowi's name is not included in the simulation, Mr. Jokowi's vote will spread, at most to Mr. Ganjar. 22 percent of Mr. Jokowi's voters in 2019 go to Mr. Ganjar," said LSI Executive Director Djayadi Hanan in a virtual survey presentation, Monday, February 22nd.

Apart from LSI, a survey was also issued by the Indonesian Political Parameters Survey Institute. The electability of the Minister of Defense (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto is still strong among figures who will run for presidential candidates in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.

"The electability data shows Prabowo Subianto to be an irreplaceable figure from military-based candidates to consistently lead the 2024 presidential candidate competition," said Executive Director of Indonesian Political Parameters Adi Prayitno in a written statement to reporters quoted on Monday, February 22.

This survey used a simple random sampling method with a margin of error of 2.9 and a confidence level of 95 percent. The number of respondents reached 1,200 with the telepolling method using a questionnaire which was conducted on February 3-8.

Adi explained, this survey was divided into two groups, namely the electability of presidential candidates with 10 and 15 names. The results of both of them favored the General Chair of the Gerindra Party.

On the electability of 10 presidential candidates, Prabowo Subianto was in first place with a percentage of 23.1 percent. Furthermore, in second place there is the name of DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan with electability of 15.2 percent and Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo 14.9 percent.
