Prabowo Receives An Increase In Honorary Ranks At The TNI-Polri Meeting Tomorrow, Jokowi Is Confirmed To Be Present

Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Pratikno confirmed that President Joko Widodo will attend the TNI-Polri Leadership Meeting (Rapim) in 2024 tomorrow, Wednesday, February 28.

In the event at the TNI Headquarters, Cilangkap Jakarta, President Jokowi plans to embed the rank of honorary general to the Minister of Defense (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto.

"Mr. President is here," said Pratikno when met at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Tuesday, February 27, was confiscated by Antara.

Pratikno said President Jokowi would give a speech at the TNI-Polri Rapim.

"The event is tomorrow. Tomorrow of course there will be remarks and others as usual," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Indonesian Armed Forces Information Center (Kapuspen) Maj. Gen. Nugraha Gumilar confirmed that Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto would receive a special promotion from President Jokowi to become a TNI general at the TNI-Polri Rapim event in Cilangkap, Jakarta tomorrow.

"Yes, that's right, (the Indonesian Defense Minister) has been promoted to become an honorary general," said the Head of the TNI.

Defense Minister Prabowo is a retired TNI with the last rank of three-star general/letnan general.

Prabowo left his service after being honorably dismissed as stated in Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number: 62/ABRI/1998 signed by the 3rd President of the Republic of Indonesia B. J. Habibie on November 20, 1998.

Spokesperson for the Indonesian Defense Minister Dahnil Ahzar Simanjuntak on a different occasion believes that the awarding of awards in the form of special promotions to Prabowo is due to his contribution to the progress of the TNI and Indonesian defense.

Dahnil believes that the awarding is in accordance with Law Number 20 of 2009 concerning Titles, Services, and Honors.
