The DPR's National Mandate Party (PAN) faction refused to issue a right of inquiry regarding the cheating of the 2024 General Election. Chairman of the DPP PAN Saleh Partaonan Daulay said there was already a special route that could be taken according to the Election Law, namely through the Constitutional Court (MK).

"So far, the words of the election results have always been resolved through the Constitutional Court. The experience shows that all of these words have been resolved by the Constitutional Court fairly according to the available time," Saleh said as quoted from his written statement, Saturday, February 24.

Saleh said the right of inquiry would take time in its implementation even though the General Elections Commission (KPU) had set the stages of the election. Not to mention, the investigation efforts that have been carried out must involve many institutions.

He considered the most appropriate way is to file a lawsuit with the Constitutional Court. What is important, the evidence. Don't accuse cheating, but the evidence is only narrative," he said.

"Because, in court what is needed is evidence. Now, in this case, the plaintiffs who have the responsibility to provide the evidence," continued the chairman of the PAN faction in the DPR.

Saleh also questioned the target of the right to inquiry. If the government, he said, would not be right because all parties have representations in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet except for the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS).

"Is it ethical if the parties in the cabinet apply for the right to inquiry to the government? Isn't that the same as conducting an investigation into each other," he asked.

"Please reconsider. Because this will be a bad precedent in the future. What is called the right of inquiry will have a broad impact. Not only during the election, the implications can even be on other things outside the election," said Saleh.

Previously reported, Ganjar Pranowo, who is the presidential candidate number three, proposed two supporting parties in parliament, namely the PDI-P (PDIP) and the United Development Party (PPP) to roll out the right of inquiry related to alleged fraud in the 2024 General Election.

"The DPR can ask the General Election Commission (KPU) and the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) to investigate allegations of fraud in the holding of this year's elections," said Ganjar. Later, the presidential and vice-presidential camps number one, Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar or AMIN will also follow the same steps.
