KPU Will Not Stop Sirekap

JAKARTA - Chairman of the General Elections Commission (KPU) Hasyim Asy'ari emphasized that he would not stop broadcasting the vote acquisition data in the 2024 Election Recapitulation Information System (Sirekap).

According to Hasyim, this was done for the sake of transparency in the implementation of elections to the public, especially in terms of uploading original photos of the C1-Plano Model Form or records of vote count results for the 2024 General Election.

"The point is for the photo, the Plano Results C Form at the TPS, we will continue to upload it," said Hasyim, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 23.

He also ensured that the process of correcting and synchronizing data with the votes that were recapitulated manually in stages continued, although some of the data had been wrong due to errors in reading by the system.

"We are still showing this because of what? Voters or political parties who do not have witnesses want to access information on the development of plenary results at polling stations from where? Precisely with Sirekap this can be accessed, can be monitored, can be monitored," he said.

Meanwhile, for election monitoring, the C1-Plano Model Form in Sirekap can be a basis for calculating independently. This can be a provision for election monitoring to deal with the manual recapitulation process on it, such as sub-districts and provinces.

"(Sirekap) is while both can compare or crosscheck whether what is broadcast is correct or not," said Hasyim as well.

If Sirekap is closed, only certain parties will hold the C1-Plano Model Form from the TPS level and can find out about the vote counting situation.

"That is the goal of this Sirekap so that the results of the vote count are transparent, anyone can access it," he said.

Hasyim also said that the publication of vote acquisition data in Sirekap may later be delayed or slowed due to the correcting and synchronization process. This is so that the sound recapitulated at the sub-district level no longer experiences differences with Sirekap's publication.
