JAKARTA - Joint officers from the DKI Jakarta Transportation Service (Dishub), the Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya, and the TNI took action against two-wheeled vehicle drivers who went against the road in Jakarta.

The prosecution began on Thursday, February 22. Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that this action was carried out to increase community discipline in complying with traffic order on the road.

"The action will take place from 07.30-10.00 WIB in the morning and at 16.00-18.00 in the afternoon which was carried out in several locations in Jakarta," said Syafrin in his statement, Friday, February 23.

On its implementation on the first day, a total of 144 two-wheeled vehicles were recorded who went against the direction and were prosecuted with a ticket.

"In order to create a deterrent effect, officers took action by wearing a BAP (ticket) on the drivers of the two-wheeled vehicles," said Syafrin.

In the morning, prosecutions were carried out in 4 locations, namely Jalan Wahid Hasyim, Jalan Johar, Jalan Kebon Sirih Timur Dalam, and Jalan Blora with a total of 30 two-wheeled vehicles that went against and were prosecuted.

Meanwhile, in the afternoon, as many as 114 vehicles that went against the direction were given a ticket on Jalan Kh. Mas Mansyur, Jalan Kramat Bunder, Jalan Gunung Sahari, Jalan Karang Anyar, Jalan Letjen Suprapto, Jalan Kebon Sirih Timur, Jalan Johar.

Then, Jalan Raya Cilincing, Taman Setia Budi, Jalan Rasuna Said, Jalan Kalibata Raya, Jalan Ciputat Raya, Ring Road Rawa Buaya, Ring Road Pintu Air Cengkareng, Jalan Raya I Gusti Ngurah Rai, Jalan Raya Bekasi, Fly Over Pondok Kopi, and Derivative Fly Over Klender.

Syafrin said that the action of motorists against this direction would be carried out regularly 2 times a day in the morning and evening to ensure smooth running and traffic order.

"The selection of the action location will be adjusted to the potential area for violations of the opposite direction," said Syafrin.

Syafrin hopes that this action is expected to foster awareness and discipline in traffic through compliance with traffic signs, directional instructions, and traffic officers in order to create smoothness, security and safety on the road.
