Demonstration At The Indonesian KPU, Police Drop 967 Joint Personnel

Central Jakarta Metro Police deployed 967 joint personnel from the TNI and Polri to secure the demonstration in front of the KPU RI office, Jalan Imam Bonjol, Menteng District, Central Jakarta, Friday, February 23.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro said all personnel involved in security to act persuasively, not provoked, prioritizing negotiations, services and humanists.

"For traffic, there will be closures around the Indonesian KPU, so we urge people who will pass in front of the Indonesian KPU to find other alternative roads," said Kombes Susatyo when confirmed, Friday, February 23.

Kombes Susatyo asked the participants of this afternoon's demonstration to pay attention to the rights of other communities.

"We urge anyone who will express their opinions in public, as stipulated in the law on conveying the opinion of the rights of every citizen must pay attention to the rights of other people, so that the rules in the law on expressing opinions in public, please obey them," he said.

Based on the chipser received by VOI, the student and student alliance will hold an action in front of the Indonesian KPU, Jalan Imam Bonjol, Menteng District, Central Jakarta, on Friday afternoon. The action, titled KPU and Bawaslu escort, will be held at 15.00 WIB.

The action called for resistance to the nation's dividers, escorting the KPU and Bawaslu, the people of the Indonesian pillars of peace. Hundreds of people are expected to take part in the action.
