Starting From TikTok To Dating In The Kost Room, Honda Civic Riders Become Car Theft Targets

JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Johar Baru Police has arrested a gang of perpetrators of motorcycle and car theft using a dating mode through the TikTok application. The suspects were arrested by the Johar Baru Police Criminal Investigation Unit in the Sukabumi area, West Java.

Johar Baru Police Chief Kompol Ubaidillah said 4 suspects named Danni Gunawan, Triya Murtiningsih alias Vanessa, Agung Rahmat Riyadi and Syaiful Anwar were arrested along with the evidence, namely a Honda Civic car number B 1286 VES, and three mobile phones.

Kompol Ubaidillah again explained that the suspects were looking for their targets through the TikTok application. Vanessa, one of the female perpetrators, was tasked with finding the target. Until finally a man with the initials AS got a Honda Civic.

After receiving the target, Vanessa approached via text message. Until finally Vanessa and the victim agreed to have a meeting at a discotheque.

"They met on TikTok and land coffee (meeting)," said Kompol Ubaidillah to reporters, Wednesday, February 21.

Furthermore, the suspect Vanesa invited the victim to play at his boarding houses, Simamora, on Jalan Rawa Tengah II, RW 07, Galur Village, Johar Baru District, Central Jakarta.

Arriving at the boarding houses, Kompol Ubaidillah explained that the two of them had sex. Well, when the victim took a bath, Vanesa took the victim's car keys to be handed over to her friend who was waiting outside.

"The suspects stole the car by stealing the victim's car's ignition key. Then took the car away. So hands to hands." said Kompol Ubaidillah.

The victim, who felt he had lost his car, immediately reported to the Johar Baru Police.

The suspects were charged with Article 363 paragraph 1 to 4 of the Criminal Code.
