Buy Meat Using Counterfeit Money For IDR 100 Thousand, Elderly From Temanggung Arrested By Police And Then Released

Surakarta Police have arrested a woman with the initials M (73), a dealer of counterfeit money (upal). Surakarta Police Chief Kombes Iwan Saktiadi through the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Kompol Ismanto Yuwono, said that the perpetrator was a resident of Jampirejo, Temanggung, who was arrested on Friday, February 16, at around 06.00 WIB.

Ismanto said, the perpetrators circulated counterfeit money one hundred thousand by spending it at the Beef traders at Hardjo Daksino Serengan Market, Surakarta.

"Friday (February 16), a perpetrator suspected of circulating counterfeit money by spending it to buy beef to a beef trader at Hardjo Daksino Market, Serengan, Ska, and handed over by the Head of the Market to the Serengan Police at around six am," said Kompol Ismanto.

The results of the police investigation, according to the perpetrator's confession, he received the counterfeit money from the sale of a chicken in the Magelang area selling Rp. 100,000 by an unknown person. M admitted that at that time he was paid using money that was suspected of being fake.

Then the perpetrator took the bus bound for Jogja and changed buses to Solo. Arriving in Solo, he took the bus to go to Wonogiri with the aim of meeting Eyang Sastro in Wonogiri to treat his son, who is currently suffering from memory. "explained Ismanto.

"However, after being traced, when the perpetrator arrived in Wonogiri that Eyang Sastro had died 1 year ago. Then the perpetrator took the bus bound for Solo to come down in front of Hardjo Daksino Market with other traders," he added.

In the market, continued Ismanto, the perpetrator bought kikil meat weighing half a kilogram, for Rp. 10,000. When paying for it, the perpetrator used Rp. 100,000 which was suspected to be fake.

"The money was put into a box, but the cow traders realized that the money was fake and asked to be paid in denominations. Finally, the perpetrators paid Rp5,000 denominations, 2 pieces," he said.

Not long after, traders shouted that someone was shopping using counterfeit money.gangers and market visitors were excited, the woman was immediately secured by officers on guard at the location.

"The perpetrator was arrested by a man named Budiyanto and Sujadi. And at that time Budiyanto and the vice minister found 1 sheet of money one hundred thousand which was suspected to be fake and found around the perpetrator. Then the perpetrator was handed over to the security guard for follow-up to the Serengan Police," explained the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit.

Kompol Ismanto revealed that it turned out that the perpetrator M had been involved in the same case at the Temanggung Police, namely the case of counterfeit money, around 1998.

"We have resolved the perpetrator with restorative justice, because the perpetrator has no intention of circulating the counterfeit money. And currently the perpetrator is also treating his child who has a lack of memory," concluded the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit.
