Bogor City Council Asks To Be Patient And Keep Votes To The KPU's Official Announcement

BOGOR - Chairman of the Bogor City DPRD Atang Trisnanto appealed to the people of Bogor City to oversee the results of the vote while waiting for the official results of the 2024 General Election count issued by the Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU).

Atang explained that all parties must wait until the vote count is complete by the KPU because the announcement issued by the KPU has strong legal legitimacy and is protected by law.

"Yes, the public certainly has to wait for the results of the calculation or real count from the KPU because that can be used as legitimacy for holding the election," said Atang, Friday, February 16.

He said, the official announcement from the KPU was still waiting 35 (twenty five) days after the vote. For this reason, let's work together to guard the votes until the results of the Presidential Election (Pilpres), as well as for the legislative elections (Pileg).

"The voice given by the people is a mandate and must be guarded. We respect the voice of the people by ensuring that there is no fraud and manipulation of vote counting," he explained.

The chairman of the Bogor City DPRD also asked the public not to waste energy to discuss information that leads to fake news because it will only create divisions and damage harmony in society.

"We have carried out our obligations as citizens by exercising our voting rights. It's time (all citizens) to return to their original routine," he said.

On that occasion, Atang also invited all parties to return to care for the nation after the political contestation in the 2024 General Election was over. The call for the people to return to the ranks is conveyed, both in the real world and in cyberspace. Various figures also conveyed the same thing.

Atang assessed that the current stages of the 2024 General Election can run well, safely, comfortably, and peacefully.

"If in its implementation there is a dynamic, of course, a natural thing will happen but not damage the integrity of the nation and state, that is where our democratic value is," he said.

Meanwhile, the General Elections Commission (KPU) has set a Fixed Voter List (DPT) in the 2024 General Election. The total number of voters who have the right to vote in the 2024 General Election reaches 204,807,222.

Of the total number of DPTs that have been set, young voters currently dominate to determine the fate of the nation in the next five years.
