Russia launched another missile attack on Ukraine on Thursday, hitting infrastructure, damaging residential and commercial buildings, injuring at least six people in various regions of the country, officials said.

This is Russia's second missile strike this month. Russian troops targeted seven Ukrainian regions across the country, including the capital Kyiv, Dnipro City, Zaporizhia to Lviv, the Ukrainian military said.

"Another missile attack on Ukraine. In particular, the enemy is targeting Kyiv," said Serhiy Popko, head of the Kyiv military government.

Popko continued, the missiles approached the capital Kyiv from various directions.

Popko said the air defenses shot down all the missiles targeting the capital. However, he also said there was no major damage or casualties in Kyiv.

In the city of Lviv, in the west near Ukraine's border with Poland, an infrastructure facility was hit, said regional governor Maksym Kozytskyi.

He said two people were injured in the attack. In addition, residents' houses and private cars were also damaged.

Infrastructure was also affected in the Khmelnytskyi region in the west and the city of Zaporizhia in the southeast, regional officials said. Four people were injured and a school and shop were also damaged in Zaporizhia, city officials said.

The air warning lasted for more than two hours across Ukraine, during the period of the Russian attack. Moscow itself has repeatedly attacked infrastructure in Ukraine.

Separately, Ukrainian officials said Russian forces were trying to repeat attacks last winter when Ukraine's power sector was badly damaged, resulting in a prolonged power outage for millions of people.

Throughout this year's winter, Ukraine has been experiencing unusually warm winter weather with temperatures well above zero, but the energy system is able to overcome it.
