Rice Transport Truck Hits Students To Death In Front Of Cipinang Prison

JAKARTA - The accident occurred on Jalan Bekasi Timur Raya, Pisangan Timur, Pulogadung District, East Jakarta, Monday, February 12. A motorcyclist was killed by a truck loaded with rice.

From the statement of Darsa (40), one of the eyewitnesses to the incident, the victim was a high school student who was about to go to school.

He knew about the incident while he was around the location to work around 07.00 WIB. Darsa saw the rice truck passing on Jalan Bekasi Timur Raya, Cipinang Muara, Jatinegara.

"The victim was stabbed because the height of the road was different, swayed. So he slipped and rolled into a truck," Darsa told reporters, Monday, February 12.

The incident occurred when a rice truck was turning around in the front round of the Cipinang Prison. The vehicle with plate G was about to go to the Cipinang Rice Main Market in Pulogadung.

Darsa did not know for sure where the motorbike was, and where the victim was going. However, based on the narrative of another motorcyclist who stopped when the incident occurred, the motorbike slipped.

This is because the height of the Transjakarta route or the rightmost lane of Jalan Bekasi Timur Raya, both in the East Pisangan and Cipinang Muara areas, is not flat. The Transjakarta route on the two highways is higher than the usual road.

"The position is that the truck is on the far right because it wants to get on the flyover. The motorbike seems to be stuck because the road is not flat. The truck is loaded with weight, so it can't be used to brake, so the motorcyclist is hit," he said.

When slipping, the victim's motorbike was dragged forward. Meanwhile, the victim rolled into a speeding truck.

"The person was crossing under. The truck was loaded with weight, so the brakes were unstable. The motorbike was dredging in the future, the victim was dragged by the rear tire because the position of the truck was running," he said.

As a result of the accident, Jalan Bekasi Timur Raya was jammed along 3 kilometers to Jatinegara.

"The evacuation process was immediately acted upon by Polantas (traffic police). The victim was taken by ambulance," he said.
